York in Poetry: York Song

Posted on 25 November 2012 | Poem

Minster roofs gleaming
Abbey walls glowing
Daffodils blowing –
York in spring.

Tourists queuing
Park and Ride revving
Traffic fuming –
York in spring.

Mallards paddling
Riverboats honking
Cameras snapping –
York in spring.

New home,
New Time,
New Me,
And – York in spring.
